Privacy Policy

• Account details: the name and mobile number (or email) you sign in with, the one-time passwords used to verify them, and session tokens that keep you signed in.
• Vehicle assignment: which Niyantha vehicle this phone is attached to and, when the vehicle belongs to someone else, the crew role (driver, conductor, cleaner) its owner granted you.
• Precise location, only while streaming is on: GPS coordinates, speed, heading, altitude, accuracy and a timestamp for every fix, typically every 1–10 seconds. Collection continues while the screen is off because the app runs as a foreground service with a visible notification, and stops the moment you press Stop streaming, sign out, or the vehicle owner detaches your phone.
• Device information: an app-generated device identifier, device model, operating system version, app version and battery level, so the fleet owner can tell which phone is reporting and how much charge it has.
• Diagnostics: connection and upload status needed to keep streaming reliable. The app does not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs or contacts.

• To sign you in and keep the session valid.
• To show the vehicle’s live position, route history and trip statistics to the people who are allowed to see that vehicle on Niyantha.
• To queue GPS fixes on the phone while it is offline and upload them in order when connectivity returns.
• To detect misuse, keep the service secure and fix technical problems.

We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

Location streamed by Optimus Mini is attributed to the vehicle, not to you as a person. It is visible to the vehicle’s owner account on Niyantha, to people that owner has granted access to (crew, delivery networks, dispatch staff), to anyone holding a public tracking link the owner chose to create for that vehicle, and to the owner’s own systems that read the Niyantha API. We share data with service providers only to run the service (cloud hosting on Microsoft Azure in India, SMS delivery for one-time passwords) and with authorities when the law requires it.

• Location (while using the app): required to read GPS. The app never requests “allow all the time”.
• Notifications: to show the persistent “Optimus Mini is streaming” notification that Android requires for a foreground service.
• Network state: to pause uploads while offline and resume them later.

You can revoke any permission in your phone’s settings; streaming then stops.

Location history is retained as part of the vehicle’s trip records for as long as the vehicle owner keeps the vehicle on Niyantha, and is deleted with it. Account details are kept while your account exists. You can delete your Niyantha account, including the phone’s sensor record, at niyantha.in/delete-account; records we must keep for legal, safety or dispute-resolution reasons may be retained for the period the law requires.

Data travels over TLS, is stored in access-controlled databases, and is only reachable with a valid session or API key. Keep your phone and one-time passwords safe; no mobile service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Optimus Mini is for fleet operators and their crew and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy; the new version is posted here with a new date. Material changes are also announced inside the app.
